Overview

We outfit and guide these hunts ourselves and they take place on large private ranches in north-central Wyoming. With more than 30 years of Wyoming outfitting experience, our long-term success rate is near 100%. Most of the bulls taken on this hunt are 6-points, with a few 5x5’s and 7x7’s also taken every year. The average bull will score about 280 to 300, with top-end bulls going to 350+.

Value

The best thing about these elk hunts is the price, as it is extremely reasonable – especially when you consider the high success rates and trophy quality. If these ranches were in the states of UT, CO or NM – where we have guaranteed landowner tags – these hunts would be priced at about $18,500. However, because these hunts take place in Wyoming and the elk tags are on a drawing basis, that's why we can offer such a great value.

Lodging

Each two hunters share a 12’ x 15’ wall tent, complete with flooring, a wood burning stove, military-grade cots, thick foam mattresses with sheets & pillows, lanterns and storage shelves. Meals are expertly prepared by our camp chef and are served in the large, heated dining tent. Generators are used for lights in the cook tent and available for recharging batteries and other needs. Hot showers and well maintained outhouses round out these comfortable camp accommodations.

A good network of two track roads and our 4x4 trucks provide good access to the ranch, with a fair amount of light hiking being the norm. Horses and ATV’s are utilized for game retrieval, with your guide taking care of field dressing and packing the animal out, as well as caping the trophy. These hunts represent one of the best values for private land elk hunting today.

Getting There

Fly into Casper, WY and rent a car to drive to camp or drive to Thermopolis, WY
where you will then be escorted to camp.

License

Regular Elk Licenses are priced at $692, with Special Elk Licenses at $1,268.

Preference Points

Elk Preference Points are $52 and Conservation Stamps are $12.50. License fees are refunded if you don’t draw, less a $15 application fee. *Unless you have a substantial number of points, we generally recommend that you go with the Special License, as it has a higher drawing rate.

Drawing

Due to the license drawing, we have developed a three-year program, where you put down a small initial deposit ($500) and the appropriate license fee. The small deposit locks in the price of your hunt for up to three years and the advent of a preference point system in Wyoming gives you a very good chance at drawing the license. While your small deposit is nonrefundable, it will be applied towards the price of your hunt when you do draw the elk license, or you may move the deposit at any time to other hunting or fishing trips that we offer.
